About.

How It Began

I started learning SEO in 2014 after writing for a blog about the Appalachian Trail.

Don’t Google it. It’s all about bug bites and rashes.

But it was an SEO-driven publication that I was blogging for, for free, and for fun! As I learned the ropes, I found I really enjoyed poring through the data to find out for myself which SEO tactics work and which are truly myth and legend.

The fact is, SEO is not mystical or unknowable. But it is tricky and ever-changing. Unless you’re in the data every day, it’s hard to know if you’re dedicating your time to improvements that will make an impact.

Not to mention, premier SEO can be a lot of work, with different strategies working for different budgets.

When it comes to SEO, it’s important to constantly be prioritizing your opportunities for growth. That’s the foundation of all my strategies, no matter the project.
